Establishment of the SAIP for 2024

After reviewing data from the Tell Them From Me Survey, NAPLAN, the data wall movement concerning Learning Progressions, and the focus of every Case Management meeting in 2023 around sentence structure, it became evident that there was a significant need to focus on improving student outcomes in sentence formation. Based on these findings, the School’s Annual Improvement Plan (SAIP) for Learning and Teaching was set to center on this goal. The Learning and Teaching Action Team, in consultation with staff and the Learning Collaborative Team, developed specific actions to address this goal and agreed on measurable indicators of success. The team also sought support from the Catholic Schools Office, which provided guidance and supply of some professional learning, recognizing that other schools in the region were also prioritizing similar goals around writing and sentence structure. New team members to The Learning Collaborative Team

At the start of 2024, the Learning Collaborative team underwent a review to ensure that all stages of the school community were represented. Following a staff vote, new members were selected to join the team. To help integrate these new members, they participated in a question-and-answer session with existing team members. This allowed them to understand the role and goals of the team within the school. Additionally, they had the opportunity to observe learning walks and attend talks with established team members, further supporting their understanding of the collaborative process. As part of their integration, the new team worked together to establish the Glow and Grow protocol, a key framework designed to inform and enhance professional learning. New Staff Onboarding

New staff were introduced to the Learning Collaborative journey via this blog and also by the supported resource created by the Catholic Schools Office available here. During conversations there was a focus on Glow and Grow - in regards to what individuals had engaged with already with their teams practice. New staff had the opportunity to also ask questions of Learning Collaborative leaders and how this professional learing translated to our school context.
