Learning Progressions revisited with real time data

Staff (both teachers and teacher assistants) spent some time developing their ability and confidence to map student writing behaviours to the Literacy Learning Progressions. Staff used students writing samples from a variety of Key Learning Areas and mapped progress according to the Learning Progressions site. Staff had a starting point for each child as we had completed this activity at the end of last year. This activity enabled staff to monitor student progress in writing and discuss how they can use it to better plan for our student’s learning needs in writing. The school has employed Teacher Assistants for longer hours so that they can be part of all staff meetings.
