Online Learning for Staff
Blended Learning and NSW Health Restrictions haven't stopped our Learning Collaborative Learning! Instead it has caused the team to consider how to present differently. We started with reflection and sharing through a Zoom meeting. As part of our School Improvement Plan we share the goal to 'Engage with and apply methodologies from the Learning Collaborative.' Many individuals/teams have been experimenting with their new learning.
Using Mentimeter we asked staff to share some of what is happening across the school. The beauty of this platform is that as people contribute their ideas pop up on the screen. The wordle below is created with the most common word being typed becoming larger.
We then asked staff to answer the following questions with what they trialed. What were there successes in what they have trailed so far as part of their engagement with the Learning Collaborative? These were read out.
With any implementation, we might have experienced challenges, especially as we navigate together how this learning works for us.
These were read out as they were entered by staff.
Colleagues were asked to share how they have trialed some solutions to these challenges. These also might give ideas to others who might also be experiencing similar challenges.
Sharing of learning also highlighted what 'change' teachers were beginning to see in the students. After these four questions were asked, staff were asked to reflect and share in breakout groups their thoughts about what has been happening. Each team then were invited to share what they discussed.
Staff were invited to set an action moving forward.
These were read out. Staff were asked to reflect on what possible barriers have stopped them so far and how they can think they can creatively solve them as they set goals.
Staff were invited to review the summary of the Case Management Approach. It was highlighted that Case Management Meetings are part of the approach. This also includes data walls and Learning Walks and Talks.
