The role of the Learning and Teaching Action team

The Learning and Teaching Action Team actively engaged in providing iterative feedback throughout the term on various versions of potential data walls developed by the Learning Collaborative Team for staff use. This feedback process ensured that the data walls were practical, aligned with school goals, and effectively supported teaching practices. Additionally, the Learning and Teaching Team reviewed professional learning resources focused on deepening staff understanding of sentence structure to enhance their ability to teach this concept to students. They explored how these professional learning opportunities linked directly to the data wall, particularly by aligning with the steps of progression. This alignment emphasized a clear connection between the data wall's role in tracking student progress and the instructional strategies needed to support student growth in sentence structure mastery.
The Learning and Teaching Action Team collaborated to share insights and strategies from the professional learning resources they discovered, focusing on how these were applied in their classrooms. Team members reflected on and discussed their experiences, highlighting effective methods for transferring this learning into practice. To further enrich professional learning, staff members filmed themselves explaining how they implemented these strategies in their teaching. These videos served as an additional resource, offering practical examples of best practices and fostering a culture of shared learning. This approach not only supported individual growth but also provided valuable tools for broader staff development.
